General Coverage
Is there any insurance cover for volunteers? If yes, where is this outlined in the policy documents?
A: Unpaid volunteers are covered under the Personal Accident policy.
Is harassment (including sexual harassment) covered under the policy? If so, where is this detailed?
A: No cover for harassment.
Can you provide the most recent insurance documentation (policy schedule and wording), or confirm where these can be accessed?
A: The Policy Schedule was provided to all members at the time of your Certificate of Currency being issued. These were emailed to members on October 30 2025 or once financial. The policy documents can also be found in the Members Area under Insurance.
Is Abuse and Molestation covered under the RGA policy?
A: No cover for Abuse and Molestation.
Activities & Program Coverage
Does the policy extend to ninja-style obstacle coaching and gymnastics activities involving height and dynamic movement?
A: Coverage applies only to activities disclosed and approved within the RGA framework. All activities must align with RGA movement boundaries and be verified where required.
Does cover extend to:
A: Yes, provided all RGA membership requirements are met (accredited coaches, approved curriculum, movement boundaries). Activities outside the framework must be disclosed to RGA team in writing BEFORE undertaking the activity.
Are the use of trampolines covered?
A: Providing the trampoline is only being used as a training apparatus, the coach holds the appropriate level of accreditation for the skills being coaches and within the skills matrix then they are covered. Trampolining as a program or open gym/venue is not covered under the cover.
Management Liability
Does Management Liability include Employment Practices Liability?
A: Yes, with a $250,000 limit (as per policy schedule).
Does Management Liability include WHS defence costs?
A: Coverage applies to appearance at official investigations (subject to policy terms).
Cyber & Data
Is there any coverage for cyber incidents, including data breaches involving member information?
A: No cyber cover is not provided under the RGA policy.
Participant & Personal Accident Cover
If a participant is not eligible for Medicare (e.g. on a visa), can they claim medical expenses under the policy?
A: Yes, they may claim under the Personal Accident policy, subject to limits and coverage.
Do members have to retain receipts for out-of-pocket expenses up to a set amount before they are eligible to claim? Yes, all records should be kept to lodge and substantiate your claim.
Is the gap expense between Medicare benefit and full expense covered under the policy?
A: The Personal Accident policy provides cover up to the limits and coverage in the policy schedule.
Is attendance at Futures League events covered for both members, non-members competing as well as spectators and Officials covered under Personal Accident and Public Liability?
A: Only financial members and unpaid volunteers are covered.
Claims & Process
What steps must a member take to commence a claim under the RGA policy?
A: For a Personal Accident Claim, the member should complete the claim form using the ‘Make a Claim’ under insurance on our website.
What documentation is required to support a claim?
A: Will differ for every claim, however typical information would include receipts, medical reports, medical certificates, club incident reports etc.
What should a club do immediately following an incident to ensure proper documentation and evidence for a claim?
A: Every incident is different. The club is not responsible for a Personal Accident claim, the individual is.
Is there an excess payable for claims made by members or clubs?
A: Please see the Personal Accident Policy Schedule.
Membership & Transfer Scenarios
If an athlete transfers from an RGA club to a GA club, does their insurance cover transfer?
A: No – they are removed from the RGA program.
If an athlete transfers from another RGA or GA club into our club, are they automatically covered, or are policy updates required?
A: Clubs participant numbers must be kept up to date with RGA.
